Is the devil Doing a Happy Dance Around Your House?





Attending a National Day of Prayer breakfast this morning, I realized anew the value of family to the stability of our nation and the importance of prayer to the state of our union. We live in a sin-sick world. There is no better way to fight sin than to pray.

As I say in We All Married Idiots, "Prayer paralyzes the devil and activates the Holy Spirit." When satan is paralyzed and the Holy Spirit energized, our Lord will be glorified in our marriage, in our children, in our schools, in our government, and in our world.

"Prayer works. It changes our marriages faster than nagging, screaming, silence, sexual abstinence, belittling, leaving, or any other sinful behavior satan tempts us to do. . . . Give up your troubles to the Lord. Just give up! Throw your arms up, give up, and pray! . . . satan doesn't want us to pray, which is all the more reason we should." ~ We All Married Idiots

God placed a passion in my heart for marriages. This morning as I prayed with Pastors, government officials, and the Mayor himself, I realized anew the magnitude of marriage and the power of prayer to the state of our union.

It's Been a Great Week for Idiots!

It's been a great week for Idiots! In fact We All Married Idiots hit Amazon's Best Seller List! You can be sure I'm Woo Hooing!!!

What a privilege to be a vessel used by God to impact lives. Not every day is wonderful though. satan loves to hurl those arrows.

 Don't let satan win his battle against marriages stormed in my head as I considered cancelling my interview with Bob Price on the Family Network News.

A migraine had me down, but my prayer team and the Holy Spirit lifted me up. Bob Price told me after the interview, "You were awesome!"  Amazing, I couldn't remember a word I said.

I did remember the advice I teach in my Marketing Your Ministry Class: Have fun doing your interview and people will have fun listening. Determined to have fun, I laughed alot, and I hope you do too!

My publisher decided to give We All Married Idiots free for one day on Kindle. I wasn't a fan of that idea. But God taught me a lesson. The next day We All Married Idiots appeared on the Amazon best seller list for PAID Kindle (not the free copies) as Number 2 under the Marriage category and Number 4 under the Love and Romance category. We can't outgive God. Forgive me, Lord. I can be such an idiot!

I don't know how many copies of We All Married Idiots have sold and downloaded free. I do know
God is putting We All Married Idiots into hands. Please pray We All Married Idiots reaches hearts.

Hope for a Hurting Marriage

Dear readers, please join my heart in prayer for Mary and her marriage: Heavenly Father, thank You for Mary and her honesty written with love. I pray in Jesus' Name, that You will heal her marriage. Lord, restore and renew the love they had for each other 17 years ago. We need a miracle, Lord, and I ask You to do it. Work in this marriage and heal hurts and fill Mary and her husband with love for each other and a determination to shine for You. I ask in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Give Your Marriage a Massage!

 Sunday is National Pray for Marriage Day. So I ask you, when was the last time you prayed for your marriage?

The high divorce rate tells me that people aren't praying. They find it easier to give up on their marriage than to give their marriage to God. How sad. Could a simple prayer save a marriage. I know a prayer saved mine.

Imagine what your marriage would be like if instead of running to a lawyer you ran to God? What if you called out to God instead of shouted at your spouse during a disagreement? Would it make a difference? I think so.

We all want great marriages. But God wants to give us even more. He says in Ephesians 3:20, He "is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine ... "

Married couples aren't asking or imagining or praying because if they were, the state of marriage would be more populated.

God doesn't want you to give up on your marriage. He wants to give you more of a marriage!  A marriage so amazing you can't even imagine it. Imagine that!


Ahhh—Prayer is like a marriage massage. Why don't we do it more often? Why do we wait so long to pray and to give our marriages to God? Why are we so quick to throw away what God wants to bless?

Let us stop being idiots (no offense intended) and begin praying for our marriages.
