Birthdays are for Celebrating!

Birthdays I do not hate
Today's a day to celebrate!

Although I  need to calculate
Am I 67 or 68?
Can you relate?
I'll leave that for your debate.

I definitely qualify for the Senior's plate,
Although I'm far from eager to lie in a crate.
God will have to wait
To welcome me at the Heavenly gate.

Today I deliberate
All the goodness of my God
For which I do not rate.

He's given me a loving mate
Three children who turned out great
Eleven grands my heart is sate
Another on the way. I cannot wait!

Thankful my heart Jesus did penetrate
He arrived on time — He's never late.

Jesus has a plan for your life. It isn't fate.
He loves you, for He knows no hate.
He will lift those burdens from your plate.
If you ask Him today, you won't have to wait.

Thank you for helping me celebrate
My birthday number 68
If the Lord allows, it will be just fine
To celebrate birthday number 69.

May God splash serenity on your birthdays! Thank you for your love and prayers for me as we journey together through the splashes! I love you back!

Happy Birthday Poem to Me

Every year on my birthday I like to write a poem just for fun.
Hope you enjoy celebrating my birthday with me!

Don't fall on the floor.
Don't gasp or abhor!
I'll cut to the core.
Today I'm 64.

I am not poor.
I purr instead of snore.
I didn't vote for Al Gore.
So much to thank God for.

So happy I just want to roar!
Booksales sometimes soar.
This I know for sure,
My God is not folklore.

A son came home from the war.
A husband I adore.
I'm a Tigger, not an E'yore.
Grandchildren two times four.

Life is not a bore.
I'm celebrating at the shore.
Don't show me the door.
If God grants me one more,

I'll still be alive
to celebrate 65!

Splashes of Serenity every day of the year hoped for you!

Happy Birthday to My Hubby

To my wonderful man,

I just want to ROAR
I'm so happy you're 64!
Life with you is never a bore.

My love for you goes to my core.
You make me laugh til my tummy's sore.
Your kisses take my feet off the floor.
I love you deeply, that's for sure.

You know, we still have lots to explore.
Hawaii to tour.
Airplanes to soar.
Yummy food--give me more!
Greens to yell, "Fore!"
Fly-fish a Montana shore.
Let's go to Italy and "amore!"

Grandbabies to adore.
God keeps giving us more and more!

I thank Him for you with a big High Five
Knowing it will be even better when you're 65.

Thanking God for the splash of serenity He gave me when He gave me you,

Your Elaine

My Birthday Poem to Me

With a big "Yippee!"
And a Happy Birthday to me!
I'm thankful to say I'm 63!

I feel so free!
Finally figured out God's will for me.
Don't feel bad, I plea.
I'm glad to be alive, you see.

And so much more to be!
Oh my, still haven't snorkeled the Caribean sea!
More grandbabies to hold on my knee.
Lots of meals to eat at the Senior's fee.
No problem putting a golf ball on its tee.
Still lovin' my hubby--hee, hee, hee!

I thank God for thee
Who have walked roads with me.
Thanks for your prayers and cups of tea.
You are all so special--golly!
I'm blessed by your love unconditionally.

Life is all just Splashes of Serenity!

Looking forward with glee
To 12 months more
When I can announce I'm 64!

Happy Birthday to me!

Why I Love My Birthday!

I love my birthday! Too many of my friends died young and never saw their son graduate from Law School, planned their daughters' weddings, held their new-born grandbabies, took long walks with older grandchildren, laughed themselves silly with their girlfriends, grew old with the love of their life. God gave me a gift when I was born--LIFE--I intend to live it to the hilt.

I celebrate by writing myself a birthday poem each year. Trust me, it is the only day I write poetry. Read it and enjoy the gift of life God gave to YOU.

Yes, it's true
Today I am sixty-two.
I won't "boo hoo"
Or yet say, "Toodle-oo!"

I am sixty-two
But I'm not blue
There's still lots to do:
Unseen places to view,

Memories to accrue,
Grandbabies to "peek-a-boo!"
A hubby who needs me too.
I'd love to have tea with you.

I still hope to write a book or two!
New exotic foods I have yet to chew.
Like to hike, golf, and kayak--to name a few!
At the end of my days, hoping to say, "Phew!"

This I know is true:
I am sixty-two
And happy as can be
That I'm not yet sixty-three!

Praying I keep shining through all my days and splashing the world with His Serenity!
