Pushing—The End of the Book Birthing Process!

It's almost here! My third book, We All Married Idiots: Three Things You'll Never Change About Your Marriage and Ten Things You Can is about to be born. Which means, I am in my final phase of labor. So, all else in my life is coming to a halt as I push this baby out.

Sorry, the blog series about publishing my first book is on hold until I finish the edits on my Idiots book. A girl's gotta do what she's gotta do to get that baby birthed.

Here is a look at my labor room and what keeps me breathing as I transition from a manuscript to a book:

A hope-filled romantic, I always light a candle to calm me down, clear my head, and remind me of the One I write for—the Light of the world.

My manuscript has been read approximately 20 times and I'm still finding ways to make it Zing!

My book almost ready for birth, yet still making those changes. It's not quite knit together as the Creator wants it knit. Each word and then each sentence and then each paragraph is dissected to determine if THE best word, sentence, and paragraph has been constructed. It's grueling and it's fun!

My Bible keeps me focused and inspired and is the best resource to find truth on any subject.

My well-read Concordance makes looking up verses regarding my writing topic a breeze.

My Thesauraus keeps my writing fun! I love finding the most power-filled words possible to convey my message.

What would I do without my sticky notes! Each one represents a word I need to look up or change or a sentence I need to make stronger.

My tea. Oh, how I thank God for tea.

My prayer team. I thank God for them and their prayers for me. I have about 50 people praying for my ministry. Would you like to join them? If so, please let me know and I'll send updates via e-mail when I need special prayer.

So, pray for me please. I won't be blogging again until I send these edits to my publisher. Thanking Eddie Jones and Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas for their patience with me and their resolve to work hard to make my words shine.

Praying my new book brings a splash of serenity to marriages in turmoil,

Elaine

  5. Elaine,

I couldn't think of a more wonderful topic to blog about than the birth of a new book. Thank you for sharing your spot of serenity and writing and for including us in the birthing process.

I'm looking forward to the book release! As soon as you have the date, let me know where the party is. We are traveling to Rome to be there cheering when the doors open!

I would love to be one of your prayer warriers - it is a joy to pray for you.
