Not sure whether to say, "Splash!" "Help!" "God bless you." or "What am I doing here?" Whatever, I've surfaced and I hope we will have a good swim together.
I'm all into splashes. It started at birth when I arrived a month late weighing nearly 11 pounds. Although I can't remember, I imagine even then I realized life was nice in a watery womb listening to my mother's heart beat and being lulled to sleep with her every movement. I've loved water all my life.
So much so, that at a writer's conference when a teacher told me to write what I was passionate about, the first thing that entered my mind was, my bath. I love a good soak. It is there that God soothes my soul, I do my best thinking, and (please don't picture this) I wrote my first published article, "No Room in the Tub for Me." That article grew into my first book, Splashes of Serenity: Bathtime Reflections for Drained Moms. I've been Splashes of Serenity (website: www.SplashesofSerenity.com E-mail: SplashesofSerenity@yahoo.com) ever since.
And that is what I hope this blog will be to you--a splash of serenity from all the things in the world that drain you. Don't throw in the towel. Come back and visit me and let's have a good swim.

Congrats! Elaine. I began mine over a year ago because I love to write and I wanted to communicate to the women of our church and whoever else wanted to read. They read from all over the world. I have a way of keeping track who visits and how many. It is a great way to develop not only your writing skills, but your passion for Jesus. You can always find me blogging usually five days a week. www.jodylynne.blogspot.com I think you will find that you will enjoy this.
ReplyDeleteHi Elaine,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you did this! Can I add you to my blog's sidebar? I started blogging about 2 years ago because it gives me a way to connect with my family and other women. It also allows me to use my love of writing too!
Welcome to the blogging world!
Love you!
Terri
Terri, Please add me to your sidebar or anywhere else. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteJody, How do I know who visits and how many?
Diana, you are an inspiration to me. Thank you. Now I need to be followers of all your other authors. I'll work on that this weekend while I'm away again with Dan.
Hugs to all my bffs (blogger friends forever).
Elaine
A great start Elaine!
