John Riddle, Creator of "I Love To Write Day" Writes About "We All Married Idiots" and Me!

Author on a Mission to Strengthen Marriages Everywhere!

By John Riddle

There is an old saying that goes “dating is hard, but marriage is harder!”  And if you ask any married couple on the planet, they will no doubt agree with you.  Whether it is trying to work together on how to raise the children or balance the household budget, couples will sometimes not see eye to eye.

But now there is a new book with lots of great advice for every husband and wife.  Author Elaine W. Miller has just released, We All Married Idiots: Three Things You Will Never Change About Your Marriage and Ten Things You Can,
and readers all across the country are benefiting from her research and expertise.  “This book is for every husband and wife,” said Miller, a popular author and speaker known for sharing Biblical insights with warmth, enthusiasm, and humor.

The world influences couples to divorce,” Miller said.  “My passion is to show husbands and wives God's plan for their marriage and encourage married couples to run a marriage marathon like an idiot, but not like a fool. An idiot stumbles and falls, but a fool runs the wrong way.”

Based on Miller’s 20+ year ministry to married couples, as well as her own love story, We All Married Idiots tells amusing and poignant stories, teaches Biblical principles, and challenges the reader with marriage-changing application questions. Targeted for married couples, it can be used by small groups, couples, or for personal study. Since publication, Miller learned of a minister using We All Married Idiots for marriage counseling. Another quoted We All Married Idiots in a wedding ceremony.

The book teaches couples to esteem their beloved as a gift to treasure, not as an idiot to tolerate. What marriage couldn't benefit from that?  “Newlyweds will start on the right path as they discover wisdom I wish I had known in the early years of my marriage. Those in hurting marriages will learn possible reasons why they are struggling and how God can help them change.  Is your marriage ho hum? We All Married Idiots will help you see your spouse and your marriage as an adventure to embrace,” said Miller.

With a staggering divorce rate for Christians and non-Christians, Miller knew there were a lot of people thinking they married an idiot. “Too many marriages end, only to discover in a second marriage that Oh no! This person is an idiot too!” said Miller.

“I wrote We All Married Idiots because too many marriages give up too soon for too little reason. Over 40 years ago during an argument with my husband, I thought I must have been an idiot to marry this idiot. Bursting out laughing, I realized we were both idiots. It's funny, but it's tragic. My marriage almost ended. Today I thank God we didn't give up too soon for too little reason.

“I almost threw away the most wonderful man. I thank God for him and his commitment to hold on to our marriage when I wanted to let go. I adore my husband and I shudder thinking what my life would be like if I had successfully discarded our marriage.”

Published by Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas, the book is available as a print book at on-line book stores and your local book store and as an e-book on Kindle and Nook.  You can learn more about the author and her book by visiting her Website at www.SplashesofSerenity.com
